What Man Utd target Jadon Sancho thinks about Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood

Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho is excited at the prospect of playing alongside the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial at Old Trafford, reports say. The Borussia Dortmund star is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top target for the summer window. And the Red Devils are hoping they can secure his signature despite Borussia Dortmund slapping a huge asking price of £108million on the forward.

Manchester United’s attack has been in outstanding form this season with the likes of Rashford, Martial and Greenwood all shining.

Both Rashford and Martial have scored 20 goals each, while Greenwood has took his tally to 15 across all competitions with a brace in the 5-2 Premier League win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

Fernandes has also sparkled since his January move from Sporting Lisbon, with the Portugal international finding the net seven times in the months since then.

And the Mirror say Sancho is excited by the prospect of playing alongside Fernandes, Greenwood, Rashford and Martial at Old Trafford next season.

It’s claimed he wants a move to Old Trafford but United must stump up the cash by August 10.

Both Solskjaer and Woodward have fired warnings about the club’s transfer business and how the coronavirus crisis could impact their spending at the end of the campaign.

But they’re hellbent on landing Sancho, who they’ve tracked ever since his time in the Manchester City academy.

Jose Mourinho first wanted to sign the England international back in the summer transfer window of 2017, shortly after winning the Europa League.

But the Red Devils were unable to land the forward at the time, with Sancho choosing to prioritise first-team football at Dortmund instead.

Solskjaer was eager to land the 20-year-old a year ago.

Yet with United missing out on Champions League qualification they ultimately went for Daniel James instead, who arrived from Championship side Swansea.

While Solskjaer has set his sights on Sancho, ESPN pundit Steve Nicol has expressed a belief the club should prioritise a centre-back instead.

Harry Maguire has made two big mistakes in recent times against Bournemouth and Tottenham.

And question marks still remain over whether Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly are good enough for the long run as the club seek a first Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

And Nicol said: “They’re 33 points off! That’s quite a leap, by the way.

“So, for United, they’re absolutely going one way and that’s forward – not just the way they’re playing but in the table.

“The question is, and we saw it today, now you have to shore the back-line up.

“All of a sudden Harry Maguire looks a bit slower than before, you’ve got David de Gea who looks uncomfortable now when he’s trying to make saves regardless of how far out and how close it is. That’s a huge problem.

“The question is, and we saw it today, now you have to shore the back-line up.

“I’d suggest that because of the teams they’re playing right now, certainly up until the last two games of the season, they’re playing teams they should beat.

“If I’m Ole, yes it’s great signing Sancho but I think he needs to look what’s going on in the back four.”
