Super Eagles of Nigeria have cause for celebration as they move higher in the latest FIFA ranking released by the world football governing body on Thursday, September 17.
Nigeria moved up from 31st position to 29th in the latest rankings, a move that delight fans.
This development will come as a great one for the three-time African champions ahead of their double friendly games coming up in October this year.
In the new ranking, Nigeria are now occupying third position in Africa behind Tunisia and AFCON 2019 runners-up Senegal who are occupying first.
Senegal were beaten in the final of the 2019 African Cup of Nations held in Egypt by Algeria who are occupying fourth on the latest FIFA ranking.
Nigeria on the other hand defeated Tunisia to win bronze medal at the 2019 AFCON after losing against Algeria in the semifinal.
Morocco are occupying fifth position in Africa on the latest FIFA ranking, while Ghana are sixth and Egypt seventh on the table.
