On Monday, a heartwarming tribute to the late Kobe Bryant was posted on Neymar Jr.’s official YouTube account and it will give you chills.
As you know by now, Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, and seven other people tragically lost their lives last Sunday when their helicopter went down in California.
The news broke prior to Paris Saint-Germain’s match against Lille OSC and according to reports, the team withheld the information as to not upset them before competing.
Neymar stated that he learned that Bryant had died via social media at halftime. He went on to score a penalty kick and honored the Los Angeles Lakers legend with his goal celebration.
Bryant and Neymar were friends and in the video, there are small vignettes of the two athletes interacting at PSG’s training facility and Nike photo shoots. Bryant was a passionate soccer fan from his time growing up in Italy and appreciated talents like Neymar.
The video concludes with a simple message, “Thanks for everything, Kobe!”
Thank you indeed. As of publication, the video has more than 145,000 views.
