Manchester United aren’t having their best season, it doesn’t take a genius to work that one out as it has been taking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have not been winning convincingly.
With the Red Devils sitting down in 14th place in the Premier League, BBC Sport’s average rating system is one many United fans will not.be impressed with.
According to BBC Sport’s average rating system, none of Solskjaer’s side make the grade when it comes to being in the top 10 for their position.
In goal, Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy tops the list with a 7.25 rating, putting him well above the likes of Alisson and Emiliano Martinez.
David de Gea is second bottom of the pile with an average rating of 4.78, as this continue to give Solskjaer more reasons to give Dean Henderson a chance.
At full-back, Christian Fuchs has the highest average rating at 7.33.
In at centre-back, Southampton’s Jannick Vestergaard sits top, while Leicester youngster Wesley Fofana is in second as Harry Maguire is third bottom, with his score 4.15 more than three lower than Vestergaard’s.
In central and defensive midfield, Southampton trio James Ward-Prowse, Stuart Armstrong and Oriol Romeu take the top three spots, sitting in and around that seven mark.
However, Paul Pogba is the lowest by far at 3.64. His highest rating of 5.37 came in the 4-1 win over Newcastle. Hardly a consolation.
Moving further forward, Jack Grealish tops the charts in attacking midfield at 7.25 as there were no room for Bruno Fernandes or Marcus Rashford, with wingers included.
It’s an all-English trio at the top, with Danny Ings rating of 7.75 the highest of anyone in the league with Jamie Vardy and Michail Antonio rounding off the top three.
