Liverpool are still on course to break the record points total in the Premier League.
But that does not mean transfer speculation has stopped ahead of the summer window.
Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Burnley suggested there may be areas in which Jurgen Klopp’s side can still improve, though the margins are very fine.
It remains to be seen if the Reds will delve into the market, but they have been linked with several players already.
Here is a round-up of the latest Liverpool transfer news.
Koulibaly dismisses speculation of big money move
Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who has been repeatedly linked with a move to Liverpool, has insisted that he is not considering a transfer this summer.
The 29-year-old has been at the centre of rumours suggesting interest from the Reds, as well as Manchester United and Manchester City.
And he has claimed the persistent reports in newspapers have started to “bother” him.
“In football, you never know what happens,” Koulibaly told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I never spoke to Napoli about leaving.
“If we have to find a solution, we will find it, but I have never talked about the transfer market.
“I also read in the newspapers about my future. But I only want to think about playing, I am 100 per cent Napoli and it bothers me to be linked, every day, to this or that European club.
“We will see what the president will decide and if he proposes to extend my contract, that would allow me to end my career here.
“At the moment, I still have a three-year contract and I am not thinking of anything else but Napoli.”
Jamie Carragher identifies the three areas Liverpool should improve
Former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher has pointed to three positions the Reds should look to improve in the transfer market.
Jurgen Klopp may not feel the need to strengthen his first team following such a successful season.
But Carragher has claimed Liverpool would be wise to invest in players who could provide more depth in the squad.
“I would still like them if they possibly could to add an attacking talent to the front three,” he said.
“And maybe add some sort of back up for Andy Robertson. They are well stocked in midfield and centre-back, I think Neco Williams will be great cover for Trent (Alexander-Arnold) and I just think an extra attacker and possibly looking at Lallana and Shaqiri moving on, so maybe just an extra couple of bodies in there.”
Liverpool target in talks with unnamed club
Werder Bremen have confirmed that Liverpool target Milot Rashica is in talks with a club over a potential move this summer.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to Anfield having impressed in the Bundesliga this season.
But Liverpool are not alone in their interest, with AC Milan and RB Leipzig also reportedly targeting the Kosovo international.
Werder Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann has now revealed that Rashica wants to leave.
“Other than Milot Rashica, who wants to take the next step in his career, no player has come to us and said they want to leave the club,” Baumann said.
“There is movement and discussions with a club, but other clubs are also interested in him. We have to assume that he won’t be with us next season. But we don’t need to sell below value.”
Rashica’s release clause remains at £33million after Werder Bremen avoided relegation from the Bundesliga.
