The improved terms will double his current salary, which currently sits at £2.5m per season plus performance-related bonuses.
His contract will also be extended from 2023 to 2024 and it is likely that Inter will increase the release clause beyond £97m, according to Tuttosport.
Inter hope the expiration of Martinez’s contract will prevent him from moving to Barcelona.
The Argentine forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Nou Camp over the past few months.

The Spanish giants see Martinez as an ideal long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.
However, it is believed that Barca are struggling financially after the coronavirus crisis and are unable to meet Inter’s asking price.
Inter have also made it clear that they have no plans to lower the price of their star player.
