Former Italy striker Luca Toni has slammed the performance of Cristiano Ronaldo during Juventus’ defeat to Napoli in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday night.
After a goalless draw in normal time, Juve lost 4-2 on penalties, handing Gennaro Gattuso’s side their first major trophy in six seasons.
Ronaldo struggled to get involved in the game and the loss means he missed out on the chance to claim the 32nd trophy of his career.
The Portugal international was lacking in sharpness after the extended break and Toni didn’t hold back on his assessment of the forward.
‘It’s a defeat that also bears the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo,’ he told RAI.
‘The Portuguese is in difficulty physically and he can’t even dribble a man.’

Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri also bemoaned Ronaldo’s lack of cutting edge, but admitted it’s the entire squad that are struggling.
‘He’s in the same shape as the others, like Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa, he is lacking the sharpness to do what works best for him,’ the Italian manager said.
