Adrian Clarke Speaks On Nicolas Pepe

Nicolas Pepe has struggled for form in North London since his big-money move from Lille, but has played a more prominent role since Arteta took over from Unai Emery. Pepe’s Premier League tally for goals and assists now stands at eight in 22 appearances, while he has an additional four from four outings in the Europa League.

With Pepe being used predominantly as a right winger at Arsenal and hasn’t been able to meet up with the standard expected of him for being brought in from Lille, Adrian Clarke has suggested a left flank trial for Nicolas Pepe.
His claims were on his experience as a winger at arsenal playing on both sides, primarily left-footed, but a lot of his first senior appearances for Arsenal were on the right-wing which resulted in better performance.

Clarke went further to claim that since Arsenal have a dangerous attacking left-back so the left-winger doesn’t need to do that but rather complement the effort with a final touch, the presence of Gabriel Martinelli or Aubameyang playing as a second striker from the left would then become so effective.
He handed up by saying If Pepe was the type of player that went on the outside, we would be flying right now. I think he should mix up his game more, I think his decision-making absolutely can be better and more consistent and concluded that he wants to see Pepe combining more often with Lacazette or anyone taking position of the striker.
